Apparently when my Mum came home from the hospital with Paul as a baby I would not speak to her. Despite being a mere 13 months old I probably knew that my life would never be the same again!!!! For a lot of the time Paul seemed like an older brother to me and I looked up to him (although I would never admit t that at the time). He was physically, mentally and intellectually more superior to me. It used used to annoy me when people made remarks about me being the “brains of the family” when Paul was always so much sharper than me on so many levels. Like, for instance, the time when we had tickets for a Hearts vs Celtic game at Tynie (circa 1990). I think Celtic were in with a chance of winning the league and Paul saw an opportunity to sell our tickets to a couple of soap dodgers for 3 times the face value and then use the money to buy tickets from other Hearts fans and sell for the same profit margin, then again and again (right up until 10mins after kick-off). Then we went up the road to my flat in Moat Terrace and listened to the game on the radio with a huge carry oot. Hearts got beat anyway but we still had enough money for a few pints up the toon and loads left over (happy days!!). Under Paul's guidance we did even better business before the Hearts vs Bayern Munich game in 1989. We made a fortune..............without Paul I would never have even contemplated making a quid or two from a situation like that, I was so nieve.
